Helminthic, or worm diseases are caused by a variety of worms and parasites. These diseases are very likely to occur in post-SHTF situation, since we won't be able to sustain our sanitary conditions due to lack of water, sanitary aids or the lack of detergents. We can expect increased number of bacteria and viruses, however, parasites are more common than you'd think in such situation...
Ascariasis

Disease caused by parasitic roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides. It can be either inhaled or swallowed. Disease begins with expectoration of bloody mucus. Strong stomach pains follows, accompanied with diarrhea, vomiting and appearance of roundworms in the stool.
Pinworms
Very common disase among children. Diseases is caused by pinworms. It's not very dangerous, but parasitic infection is accompanied by annoying itching in the rectum. Pinworms can also get into women's the vagina. It's very important to thoroughtly wash your hands and perform daily morning ablutions. Clothing should be boiled. Treatment: Both is served either pyrvinium or mebendazole (Vermox), which is taken 100 mg 2 times a day for 3 days. If they do not work, or in the case of infected tropical worms, albendazole (Aldifal, Zentel) is being used by 400 mg once daily for 3 days.Tapeworm
